Typography is one of the key elements of web design.
Typography delivers the biggest bang for your visual buck, and more than anything else, defines the feel of your site. If we stripped all images from the site, you’d still have a site. Remove all the type, though, and you have almost nothing.
And, too many ingredients can often wreck a recipe. So, let’s narrow it down to two, for starters: a serif and a sans-serif option. Typically, one is used for headers, and its pair for body text.
Which one goes where? Totally up to you. Sans-serif fonts are often seen as more informal, while serifed fonts can convey authority. Of course, some serifed fonts’ quirky character can offset their more formal parentage, as we’ll see.
The default text here is Merriweather for headers, and Lato for body text.
